StenAst® SC is a single-component, silane-based surface conditioner prepared for all Stenkim polymer-based surface coatings, top coats and joint sealants. Unlike film-forming primers, it forms a layer just a few molecules thick, reacting with the surface at one end and with the applied material at the other to chemically strengthen adhesion. Its short curing time allows fast application.
Areas of Use
StenAst® SC is prepared for materials and top coats such as StenCoat®, StenSeal®, StenSport® and StenCare®, applied especially on surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, steel, wood, epoxy and polyurethane. It ensures adhesion without forming a third layer between the surface and the material. It is very suitable for newly cut joints in concrete pavements; its red color makes it easy to track primed areas over large application areas, and the trace it leaves is not permanent under outdoor conditions. In dusty environments, or when old joint material is removed and replaced, take extra care with surface cleaning.
