StenSilica is a quartz-based, chemically inert, dried additive with a specific size distribution. Its adhesion to polymers is enhanced with special surface conditioners, and it is used with organic or inorganic binders. Added to polyurethane and epoxy mortars or to concrete prepared with portland cement, or broadcast onto a still-uncured surface, it improves surface hardness and mechanical properties.
Areas of Use
It is used as a filler in surface coating materials, surface leveling mortars and concrete repair mortars. Broadcast onto floors made of various materials, it increases surface resistance and hardness. With the same chemical composition throughout, it is offered in 10 sizes ranging from the finest StenSilica #0 to the coarsest StenSilica #9; blends prepared in appropriate gradation, StenSilica 100-300 and StenSilica 500MIX, are also available for floor coating applications.
